This article contains a summary of the papers delivered during the first congress of Afrikaans-speaking and Dutch-speaking Old Testament scholars held in Leiden from 11 to 12 July 1995. The papers present an overview of tllhat is currently being done in the field of the Old Testament in each of the countries.
