Abstract

Faith development: A journey through faith with route markers. The article explores the stage of adolescence and its characteristics, specifically concerning faith formation. It discusses the theological rationale for reaffirming one’s faith at various life transitions and rites of passage, focusing on how it can be implemented during adolescence.

Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: This article draws on research regarding ‘roetemerkers’ and the efforts of a task team from the Dutch Reformed church. Furthermore, it forms part of a series of articles based on research within certain Afrikaans Reformed Churches, focusing on children and adolescents’ faith formation.
