Abstract

Bpotos, a favourite word used by Homer , appears exclusively in the Septuagint version of Job to express the beauty of the whole man, as an excellent creature of God, who is transient but strives to achieve eternity. He is vulnerable but wants to reach perfection, is mortal and longs for immortality.
