This article draws on the valuable insights which Van Haven’s study of the kudu antelope species has brought to light. He indicates that a proper perception of any system’s functioning - man and nature alike - should he based on an understanding of how the various elements of a particular system interrelate - hence the term ‘eco-hermeneutical’.
